Friday, October 16th AND Saturday October 17th!
Join Chop Suey Books in a visit to the second annual Virginia Children's Book Festival at Longwood University in Farmville, VA. Two days will be packed with workshops, author panels & discussions, and the celebration of all that children's literature does! Children, parents, grandparents, book collectors, and interested members of the public are welcome to attend.
While in Farmville, be sure to stop by the Moton Museum, located nearby at 900 Griffin Boulevard! Formerly Moton High School, the Robert Russa Moton Museum is now a National Historic Landmark and is a civil rights training ground, rooted in Prince Edward County's 1951-1964 fight for student freedom. The Moton Museum features prominently in local author Kristen Green's recently published memoir, Something Must Be Done About Prince Edward County. For more on Kristen's important book (which happens to be a Staff Pick), please visit her website (or our webstore!).
