“Virginia authors are setting the creative standards for kid’s lit. We boast NYT Bestsellers, winners of the National Book Awards, Newberry Awards, Jane Addams, Pura Belpre and more. The impetus for the original Teen ’14, now YAVA, was to raise the book and author talk experience to a new level of energy and excitement. We created a fun environment where the community meets the people who are shaping kid's lit and also celebrating what it is to be a VA author and a VA reader/book lover." -Meg Medina
