Join us at Richmond Public Library for a book talk with photographer Mark Havens and VCU assistant professor Roberto Ventura. This is a ticketed event. For more information on tickets, click here.

Photographer Mark Havens will be speaking about his recently-published book Out of Season, a chronicle of his decade-long effort to document the vanishing mid-century modern motels of Wildwood, New Jersey. The book has been the subject of more than 70 features worldwide from The British Journal of Photography to The South China Morning Post. The New York Times described the work as “a ten-year elegy” and Wallpaper Magazine recently called it “a revolutionary architectural diary”.

Roberto Ventura, Assistant Professor, Department of Interior Design, Virginia Commonwealth University will parallel Mark's talk with an examination of lostmid-century modern commercial architecture in the Richmond area and Virginia.
